3. Hang the trap outside where flies are present.

In order to achieve the best results, hang the trap at least 20 feet away from populated areas due to the strong smell of the bait. Keep the trap away from protected areas as the bait will attract flies from a distance. In the summer, hang the trap in shaded areas, while in the spring and autumn, place it in the sun. For optimal efficiency, find a windless but sunny location.
